We will provide an information pack outlining the requirements Yogis need to fulfil to be considered for appointment as a company Director.

Candidates will be checked on vibrations at Guru Puja in Balmoral.

Learning about LETA
As some Sahaja Yogis may have limited knowledge of the Trust we will be providing a series of information messages to explain the many areas the Trust is involved in and responsible for.

Creation of Life Eternal Trust Australia (LETA) by HH Shri Mataji in 1986
HH Shri Mataji established LETA in 1986 as the overall administrative body to manage and promote Sahaja Yoga and its meditation which has been delivered as a community service throughout Australia since 1981.  LETA was set up to ensure we operate in full compliance with legislation and manage the legal, and financial affairs of Sahaja Yoga Meditation on a national basis, and to ensure we maintain Sahaja Yoga into the future as envisaged and created by Her Holiness Shri Mataji.

Trustee – Director – Legal appointments
To safeguard the future of LETA, a process will be initiated to appoint additional Trustee-Directors to join the Trust and assist with the growing workload involved.  There are specific legal pre-conditions associated with becoming a Trustee-Director and the details will be provided.

Due to increasing new organisational compliance requirements coming from various government departments any candidates must understand and accept their legal obligations as a Trustee-Director.    Like all company Directors in Australia, any Sahaja Yogis appointed must personally comply with the relevant legal obligations as a Director under the Corporations Act 2001 which will be provided to all candidates.

Adding new Trustee-Directors to Life Eternal Trust Australia
Upon the occasion of Guru Puja Balmoral, a team of independent Yogis will use the Vibrational Selection process to seek Shri Mataji’s blessings to add additional Trustees from candidates sought from the Collective.   The technical title of the LETA Trustees is that of “Trustee-Director” which refers to the Sahaja Yogis who are formally appointed as Directors to the Trustee Company (LEPA) being the sole Corporate Trustee of Life Eternal Trust Australia.

Trustee-Director Responsibilities
The Trustees have Legal responsibility and accountability for the organization’s actions.

Duty of Care :

  • Compliance for Australian Charities Not-for-Profits Commission – Compliances of Charitable status  within Australia –  abide by Charitable status relevant rules and legislations
  • Australian Taxation Office: Compliance of Financial Management.
  • ASIC: Comply Legal obligations as a director under the Corporations Act 2001. Responsibility for oversight of the affairs of the company.
  • Duty of obedience requires the Trustees to know the State and Federal laws and regulations that apply to the not for profit sector like WWCC, Police checks.
  • Regardless Banks and legal authorities make Trustee/ directors personally liable.

Training Provided
Upon taking up a position a period of training and mentoring will be provided by the present Trustee-Directors assisting any new Trustee-Directors to become fully competent in the position. It is an exciting time for Life Eternal Trust Australia (LETA) as we seek to expand the Trust as we plan for the future.
