State Councillor Nominations

Dear Family,

Jai Shri Mataji!

With the exception of ACT, our State Councillors from around the country have now served with dedication for almost 3 and a half years and it is time for them to have a rest and to begin the process of selecting the next group of State Councillors.

Vibration checking for the appointment of new State Councillors will occur at the time of Navaratri, followed by a handover period through to Diwali, when the current State Councillors will step down from their roles.

Seeking nominations

Over the next two weeks, we are seeking nominations for Yogis to fulfil the State Councillor role. The nominees should be established, deep and balanced Yogis, who are well respected within the collective and who actively contribute to collective activities and the spreading of Sahaja Yoga. It is also helpful to have Yogis with strong communication and organisational abilities and a high level of emotional intelligence. Above all, they should be completely dedicated to Shri Mataji, to their individual spiritual ascent, to the collective spiritual ascent, to enhancing unity amongst Yogis and to the advancement of Sahaja Yoga so as to realise Mother’s vision for humanity, to create a new world of enlightened human beings.

How to nominate

If you know a Yogi you feel would make a great Councillor, please nominate them using the link below. Self-nominations are also accepted by those with a strong desire to serve Mother, but please ask Mother on vibrations before nominating yourself. Yogis who have served as Councillors in the past may be re-nominated, provided they have had a break of at least 5 years.

We need nominees from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

Please submit nominations by 9pm Monday 26th September 2022

Nomination Form

Review of nominations

The nominees will be reviewed by the Councillors of each State and will be contacted before being placed in the list of candidates to be checked on vibrations at the time of Navaratri.

About the Councillor role

For those who accept to be nominated, please keep in mind the practical need to able to commit your time and energy to the various duties involved. Aside from generally being available to Yogis for listening, advice, guidance, decision-making and resolving issues, you will be organising and communicating with Yogis to arrange and also contribute toward various collective activities, public programs, Pujas, seminars etc at a local, national and international level. There also administrative aspects, dealing with finances and the like with guidance from the LETA Trustees. You will also review marriage applications, arrange rosters and Puja groups and attend Councillor meetings. At times, these roles can be quite time consuming and they need Yogis who are ready to fully commit themselves to serving Mother and the collective.

“So how to create the goodwill in people?”

“So how to create the goodwill in people? First the leader has to sacrifice and show how far he can go in sacrificing to keep the moral and the goodwill of the people. So the Right Side was created by the advent of Shri Rama because he showed a path of creating among people the awareness that they should be ruled, that they should not be anarchist, there should be one head who should be able to organise, co-ordinate and work out a collective thing.”
