Looking after Mother Earth.

Dear Family,

Jai Shri Mataji!

We would like to put more attention on looking after the Mother Earth as a collective.

To start, we are introducing a number of new measures to reduce the amount of landfill we produce at Balmoral:

  • Introduction of two recycling bins at Balmoral to be kept near the kitchen.
  • Introduction of two soft plastics bins. One to be kept near the kitchen and one near the flower preparation area.
  • Composting bin in the kitchen to be emptied into outside compost bin near chicken coops.
  • Composting bin near tea area for used teabags.
  • As the disposable cups and plates we currently use are not recyclable, we strongly encourage the collective to bring their own plates, cups and cutlery to be used, washed then taken home.
  • Plastic containers for leftover food will no longer be provided by the cooking team. If yogis would like to take home left over food, we ask that they bring their own containers.

To assist with this, we are asking that each roster group has at least two volunteers who are willing to be part to the Environment team. Tasks will include making sure the recycling bins have been placed near the kitchen, taking the soft plastics to Woolworths or Coles for recycling and emptying the kitchen compost bin into the outside compost bin.

If you would like to volunteer for the Environment Team or if you have any suggestions please email Roger Adamson [email protected]. In your email you will need to include the name of your Roster group.
