Australian Sahaja Primary School – Funding request

Australian Sahaja Primary School

Request for Funding Pledges

We dedicated everything we do to our Holy Mother, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

About the school project.

The Sahaja Yoga Australia Board of Life Eternal Education (LEE) has been tasked with establishing a government approved Australian Sahaj Primary School from Kindy or Foundation to Year 6 so that our children now and in the future can grow and be protected within a Sahaj environment.

The LEE Board of Directors has been working to identify potential locations for the school, and a number of options are available. It has reached the point where further progress to establish the school, and to bring it to operational status, is dependent on receiving funding and pledges from the collective.

Requesting your support

We are now requesting funding support from all Sahaja Yogis – parents, grandparents, guardians, aunties, uncles and friends to allow the work to go forward.  Below are details of two funding requests that will give you the opportunity to provide support through making a personal funding Pledge. A Pledge is a promise to provide money when it is needed.  Anyone making a pledge will be contacted to convert their pledge into a monetary donation.

The two Pledges cover the following areas:

  • Pledge 1 – Funding for establishing the Australian Sahaj School.
  • Pledge 2 – Funding for planning, investigation and compliance.

The Pledge Form is provided below for you to enter your details and the amount you would like to pledge.

The purpose of each Pledge is described in brief below. You can also contact your state representative listed at the bottom of this page for more details. We seek your support by contributing to both fundraising efforts.

Pledge 1 – Funding for establishing the Australian Sahaj School.

  • Funding Target: $1M to $2.5M (Depending on the final purchase option chosen.)
  • When will funds be required: June to October 2022.
  • Will these donations be tax-deductible? Once we have established our legal and tax structure, your donations toward the cost of establishing and maintaining the school buildings will be Tax Deductible.

The single biggest decision now facing the Board is the selection of the best option to persue. We currently have two options:

  • Option 1 – Purchase a new school property appropriate for the establishment of our school.
  • Option 2 – Utilise an existing Australian Sahaj owned property to establish a school.

Pursuing either options will be totally dependent on the level of pledges received from the collective.

As examples, there is an option to buy an existing school property (in Warwick Queensland) which will require around $2.5M to purchase and setup accommodation buildings and classrooms.  The alternative is to adapt an existing Sahaj property (e.g., Hiawatha Ashram in Victoria) which will require around $1M to establish buildings and facilities to the point that a school can commence operating.

We are asking the collective for their Pledge by completing the Pledge Form No: 1 below. Anyone making pledges should expect a call to convert pledges to monetary donations within the next 2 to 6 months.  Funds can be donated as an initial lump sum or by regular direct debit from your bank account.  The amount that is required is a very large number and we request your very generous donations so that this important project can continue.

The Pledge form is below.

Pledge 2 –  Funding for planning, investigation and compliance.

  • Funding Target: $50,000
  • When will funds be required: By end of  June 2022 (once our LEE Bank Account is set-up, in a few weeks time.)
  • Will these donations be tax-deductible? No. Funds from this pledge will be used to establish our legal and tax structure to enable tax-deductions for future donations.

For any potential school location, the Board will need to engage qualified consultants to advise on a number of areas. We are requesting the collective to pledge funds to provide the Board of Life Eternal Education (LEE) with funds to support the following activities –  bushfire planning; town planning; building and facilities design and approval; wastewater treatment, environmental compliance; etc to get approvals from local government to establish a school.

We are asking the collective for Pledges (i.e., promises to provide money when it is needed) by completing the Pledge Form No: 2 below.

We are targeting a cash raising of around $50,000, where the funds will be held in a LEE bank account and reserved only for this purpose.  At this time, we are asking those yogis who wish to support this important project to indicate the level of their donation by completing the Pledge Form below.  Once our bank account is open in a few weeks, we will contact you with a request to lodge the funds.  Payments can be made either in one lump sum or by regular direct debit from your bank account.

The Pledge form is below.
