Is your Working With Children Check (WWCC) up to date?

Thank you for supporting us in meeting our legal requirements as a not-for-profit, Child Friendly organisation.

We have important information for everyone over the age of 18 years regarding our Working With Children Check (WWCC) obligations to the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian, so please read this email to the end… thank you!
 
This is a reminder that we need to take care that our WWCC records are up to date and that everyone in our collective has a valid WWCC.

Is your WWCC current?

If you have previously obtained a working with children check, could you please check that it has not expired. The Office of the Children’s Guardian will send you a reminder to renew your approval. This reminder could end up in your junk mail, so please check for an email from The Office of the Children’s Guardian. If it has expired and you cannot find the reminder, you simply need to visit  their website and apply for a renewal.

The steps below will guide you through the WWCC renewal process:

  1. To renew visit the WWCC website to renew.
  2. You will receive an application confirmation email with the subject “Working With Children Check application confirmation” from “[email protected]
  3. You will need to take your application letter and number to a Road Maritime Services centre to provide proof your identity.
  4. When approved, you will receive a “Your WWCC is cleared (Volunteer)” email. Email will have the subject: “Information Regarding your Working With Children Check” from “[email protected]
  5. Send a copy of your clearance email to our Sahaja Yoga Child Protection Officer at [email protected]
  6. All done.. thank you!

Changed your details?

Remember to update your personal details if there have been any changes such as change in address. An outline of the law regarding the importance of maintaining your record with the NSW government is provided here.

New to our collective?

If you are new to our collective, the links below will guide you through the WWCC process. You may already have a Working With Children approval for your employment. If this is so then you can forward a copy of it to [email protected] If not, there is no charge for obtaining this as we are classed as volunteers.
 
The steps below will guide you through the WWCC application process.

  1. Read the General Information about WWCC.
  2. Complete the WWCC Form on the NSW Government’s website.
  3. You will receive an application confirmation email with the subject “Working With Children Check application confirmation” from “[email protected]

  7. Register your WWCC details on our  WWCC Register for Sahaja Yogis – NSW Form as we need to update our records and verify your details.
