Incredible story about the fires in Gidgegannup Ashram

Gidgegannup Ashram

Alert level has been downgraded

Meeting a volunteer who helped fight the fires in Gidgegannup
Dear Family,

Jai Shri Mataji!

By our Divine Mother’s blessing, WA Emergency Services issued the following advice late last night for the bushfire affected areas in the Gidgegannup and surrounding regions:

The alert level for this fire has been downgraded due to rainfall over the fireground. Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes.”

We humbly thank Shri Mataji for Her ongoing protection and ask Shri Mataji to look after all those who have been injured or have lost their home or property during these fires. We also ask Shri Mataji to look after all the brave firefighters.

The images below show how close the fires came to Gidgegannup ashram.

We also share a beautiful story from Florian, a Perth Sahaja yogi who is an Osteopath. Florian treated a patient yesterday who turned out to be a volunteer who helped fight the fires in Gidgegannup!

With Love

Meeting a volunteer who helped fight the fires in Gidgegannup.

By Florian in Perth (6th February 2021)

Dear family,

Incredible story came to  me at work today, only back at work for the first day after lockdown.
My work is as an osteopath, so helping to alleviate people’s backs and necks complaints etc.

When I asked my last patient today how he is, he said he’s fine but had a bit of a sore back since 2 days as he got called in as a volunteer to help fight the fires in Gidgegannup.

“Really!” I said, “because we have a property on O’Brien Road!”
“Which number?”
“1254”
“Is that the Yoga centre?” he asked and “what a coincidence, that is the property we defended and that got saved in the night from the 4th to the 5th!”

Volunteer firefighters from the Kwinana VFRS, Kwinana South Bushfire Brigade, Serpentine Bushfire Brigade, Yanchep VFRS, Karnup Bushfire Brigade and at the end also Gidgegannup East Bushfire Brigade were present.

They were there with 6 firetrucks and 2 smaller vehicles to defend the hangar.
They must have been on O’Brien road.
When they saw the fire coming up the hill towards the property they thought that they were too late and that this building would be lost.
But then the wind died down and the fire slowed down and gave them enough time to drive down to the hangar and bring themselves into position and set up.

The fire then came up the hill very fast.
When the fire gets close to temperatures up to 300 degrees the firefighters of course have to wear protective clothing and oxygen masks and bottles on their back.
He said the smoke at some point was so dense that they could not even see 2m in front of them. Even the lights from the trucks would just get swallowed up so that it was pitch black around.
At other moments it would be bright as day due to the flames.
They used some water from our tanks, and other tanks nearby and fought the fire until the risk was dissipated.
The hangar did not get damaged at all.
They also went into the building as they had to check for ember and everything was intact.

He said when they first went into the building they thought maybe we were a bit of a cult with all the swastikas and pictures but it was definitely quite a miracle that the building got saved and they had joked with each other saying they should join as it obviously must have good vibes.

I told him how grateful we all were and that they had made a lot of people very happy.
“You are welcome” he said, “it is great to hear that we were able to make a difference by saving the property. It will mean a lot to the fire crews that spent a long night there.”

It’s raining and cool in Perth today and the fire hazard has been reduced to a watch and act and are contained.

JAI SHRI MATAJI a thousand times THANK YOU

Love, Florian
