Celebration of Diwali & Significance of Diwali

Dear Family,

Jai Shri Mataji!

During Diwali, the Festival of Light, we celebrate the enlightenment of human beings through Kundalini awakening and Self-Realisation and the joy of God’s love by worshipping of our Divine Mother, Her Holiness Nirmala Devi, in Her aspect of Shri Lakshmi.

Days of Diwali

Sahaja Yogis observe the following days during this auspicious period:

  • Thursday 12 November: Prepare sweets and light the lamps.
  • Friday 13 November: Puja to Dhanvantari (God of Medicine), Hanuman.
  • Saturday 14 November: On this day, we sleep in, as the Demon Narakasura is killed.
    Morning – Killing of Demon Narakasura  – Naraka Chaturdashi
    Evening – Diwali: Puja to Goddess Laxmi.
  • Sunday 15 November: No moon day. No Puja. 
  • Monday 16 November: Brother and sisters Day, New Year day.

The 9 Lakshmi’s of Diwali
