Recently, a proposal for an Australian Sahaja Yoga Primary School at our NSW Balmoral country property was offered to Her Holiness Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi during Navaratri, to ask for Her permission, guidance and blessings for the school project.
We are very pleased to announce that an initiative to start a Sahaja Yoga Primary School in Australia has now commenced.

The Vision
The vision is for a boarding school that can host 20 to 50 students to be located on our Balmoral property. A place where children can enjoy a dharmic educational experience with their Sahaji brother and sisters from around Australia in a lovely rural setting.
The school will be suitable for children of Primary school age, from Kindergarten/Prep to sixth grade covering the ages 5 to 12 years old.
With Shri Mataji’s blessing, and the support of the entire Australian Collective, we sincerely hope we can make this a reality together in order to create something that would truly please our Holy Mother and help us to raise more of Her children in a Sahaj environment.
This will be a truly national project and we will be seeking support and input from yogis across all states. Our goal is for all the collective to join together in the challenge to advance Sahaja spiritual learning towards a broader and deeper understanding of Sahaja Yoga culture.
Shri Mataji supported establishing local primary schools in countries in support of and to prepare our children to attend International Sahaja Public School (ISPS) in India. As such, we are eager to note at this early stage, that when ISPS is again able to accept students in-person, we still fully encourage parents to send their children along. Our hope is to provide an alternative local Sahaja educational option for families until they are ready to send their children to ISPS. Mother specially established ISPS for all Her children globally and it should always be considered by parents as a first option.
Parents Survey
Whilst it is still very early days, we have now reached a stage where we need to seek external professional advice in certain areas to get the project off the ground.
If everything goes smoothly, it is hoped we will be able to open the school during 2022 but it will all depend on how long the school application and building application processes take to be prepared and approved, which will become more apparent as we move forward.
First and foremost, it is important we establish whether there is enough interest from parents to have at least 20 to 50 children attending the school.
Whilst we don’t require a firm commitment as yet, we do need to know how many parents are genuinely interested in sending their children to the school.

About our Balmoral property
Our National Sahaja Yoga Country property is located in Balmoral Village, New South Wales. Balmoral Village is located about 1½hours drive (100kms) south-west of Sydney. The property was purchased by the collective in 1997 and has hosted many state, national and international Sahaja events. More about Balmoral property.
